Your Google Business Profile is often the first impression a customer gets. Here is a practical checklist to make sure it is working for you, not against you.
Get the basics right
- Accurate name, address, and phone number
- Correct primary and secondary categories
- Complete hours, including holiday hours
- Service areas defined if you travel to customers
Fill out everything
- A keyword-aware but natural business description
- Every relevant service listed with descriptions
- Attributes that apply to your business
- A booking or contact link where available
Keep it active
- Post weekly — offers, updates, photos
- Add real photos regularly
- Answer questions in the Q&A section
- Respond to every review, positive or negative
Build and manage reviews
Ask satisfied customers for reviews consistently, and respond professionally to all of them. Volume, recency, and responsiveness all matter.
An optimized profile that is actively managed will almost always outperform a more established competitor that set theirs up once and forgot it.
